The Kurland Hotel offers 12 luxurious rooms and suites. Choose from Elegant Suites, Luxury Suites and Superior Suites. Rooms feature twin or king-size beds and generous bathrooms, sitting areas with fireplaces and private patios. Superior Suites also boast a terrace with private plunge pool.

Kurland also now offers the option of a Villa, set in park-like surroundings and forest-facing. Sleeping up to sixteen guests, five of the bedrooms are in the main house and three are in the cottage. There is a large, covered verandah with barbeque and pizza oven as well as your own charming swimming pool.

The vast array of facilities at the hotel include a health spa, gym and pool. With quad and mountain bikes (min age applies), horse riding, tennis, a well-stocked library and internet available, there is no shortage of things to keep everyone happy.

The Kurland polo complex features four boarded polo fields, fully equipped stables and veterinary clinic.

The pavilion includes a well-stocked bar, children's playroom and restaurant.

For nature-lovers, we recommend a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and Tenikwa Wildlife Aware Centre.

For a more sedate pace, head for the picturesque wild beaches of Nature’s Valley which are nearby.

For more intimate dining or special family celebrations meals can be arranged in a host of settings including the library, veranda, pool, couryard, your private terrace or the Rose Gardens.

Children at the Kurland are automatically members of VIK - the Very Important Kid Programme. There is a large playroom with toys, videos, playstation and snooker table located next to a heated children’s swimming pool and jungle gym. With mountain-bikes and baby bike seats available, the whole family can get out and about together. For a fun way to explore, forest wagon trails are available for a charge. Watching polo matches, in season, or visiting the stables are also hugely popular options!

The Luxury and Superior Suites feature an upstairs en-suite loft room suitable for 2 or 3 children sharing.

Kurland is situated between the coastal towns of Plettenberg Bay and Knysna on the scenic Garden Route of the Western Cape. You are 10km west of South Africa’s premier resort town of Plettenburg Bay where you can enjoy endless golden beaches, and just 20km east of the lagoon town of Knysna.

The local Airport is George, approx. 1h 30 drive away, whilst those heading from Cape Town can drive the route in approx. 6h 30.

The hotel is surrounded by rich indigenous forests and framed by the majestic mountains of the Tsitsikamma Forest.
