Cascades hotel enjoys a peaceful setting nestled in tranquil lush gardens, offering a welcoming haven away from the razzmatazz of Sun City. Spot the vibrant tropical birds that have made the gardens their home in amongst the tumbling waterways and peaceful lagoons. There are 3 exclusive swimming pools; one especially for children, one that is heated and one where you’ll find a velvet-soft faux private beach, tanning island and tropical vibe.

However, the hotel is also perfectly positioned to take full advantage of all of Sun City's delights. The resort is home to 2 water theme parks, one for slides & rides and one for adrenalin fuelled water sports. The legendary Valley of the Waves and its roaring lagoon is nearby. This 6 500 square meter wave pool with hydraulic mechanisms, generate waves of nearly 2 metres high, every 90 seconds. For the adrenalin seekers, The Temple of Courage with its 17metre slide will find you hurtling under a bridge and into a small pool. If that doesn’t appeal, embark on an exciting body slide on the Tarantula or Scorpion, or the gentler Tube ride on the lazy river. Don’t forget to seek out the Spider Web Sway Bridge and hidden cave waterfalls surrounding the Valley of the Waves. And along with the extraordinary water attractions, this 'African Vegas' also offers show stopping entertainment for all ages and stages, morning, noon and night including live concerts, sporting events, destination shopping and buzzing nightclubs along with being one of the premier golfing destinations.

There are a couple of lovely options for dining here. Peninsula restaurant’s stunning setting overlooking the lake is the perfect backdrop for dinner with its glittering international menu, and a great start the day with its mouth watering and extensive breakfast buffet.

Bocado's is open for lunch daily. Its Mediterranean vibe and peaceful setting overlooking the pool and tropical gardens is a favourite amongst guests. Finish the evening with a cocktail or nightcap at Luma Bar, which also serves light bites and snacks during the day.

And for the golfers, or those who love an elegant country club setting, then head to the Gary Player Country Club with beautiful views stretching out and over the golf course and five star service to match.

family

A great choice for a family stay, located just outside Sun City's main entertainment hub but close enough to enjoy all there is to offer at the resort. While there is the obvious attraction of the huge waterparks and day-to-night entertainment, there are child friendly trains that meander around the resort, over the waters and past the antelope that graze on the wildlife reserve, bumper cars, up to the minute movie showings, petting zoos, wildlife sanctuaries and even a night club for the tweens (minus the alcopops).

For younger Sun City guests (5-12 years) there is Kamp Kwena with a supervised programme of entertainment to keep them busy all day along with a professional baby sitting service that operates day to night. And when it's time to hit the hay after all the days excitement then the dedicated family suites offer spacious accommodation with sofa beds and the possibility to connect to an additional double room.

For those who prefer more convenient access, flights with SA Express into the Pilanesburg are available from Cape Town and Johannesburg.
