Nestled in the foothills of the Virunga volcano range, the recently opened One&Only Gorilla's Nest has everything you would expect from this luxury resort brand. The lodge features 14 spacious rooms as well as an additional seven suites, all with incredible panoramic views to make the most of the magical surroundings. A heated open-air pool and a spa offering locally inspired treatments and rituals are ideal spots to kick back after a day of trekking through the Park. The restaurant features a contemporary African menu. If you’re travelling with children the two-bedroom forest lodge is a haven for families featuring a large central bathroom, cosy fireplace and its own private viewing deck.

    Set amongst stunning gardens beneath the towering eucalyptus trees, the 14 elegant and independently built Forest Lodge King rooms form beautifully appointed and private accommdation for two.  Expect soft hues and natural materials sustainably harvested from the lcal area and bold Rwandan prints. 

    The secluded open-air viewing deck or your al fresco shower, allow you to make the most of the forest setting.  You may even be able to peak of the Virunga volcanoes in the distance from your swing chair! 

    For those seeking additional space at this ultra-luxurious resort the 7 Suites beckon, including the Silverback Suite with private pool and kitchenette where your dedicated chef can create a private meal to remember.

    The team will assist you in arranging treks although permits to visit the gorillas must be purchased in advance of travel (currently USD 1,600 per person, subject to change),   Please note if you have a contageous illness such as a cold, you may not be able to take part and no refund will be given.  You will be equipped with everything required for your once-in-a-lifetime experience, such as gaitors (expect mud!), just pack some trusty walking boots!

    On site enjoy the Spa and heated swimming pool to rest those weary post-trek muscles, perhaps after some coffee tasting in the reception lounge area!  Rwanda is famous for its' fragrant Arabica.

    Nest is the resort’s main restaurant and bar, celebrating Rwandan beauty from every angle with views down the valley from the full length terrace.  Guests can enjoy local Rwandan specialities with a unique twist against this unforgettable backdrop.  Meals may be 'family style' giving you the opportunity to try unusual dishes, or a la carte.

    Some of the suites also have kitchen facilities if you would like to plan a private meal for two.

    Whilst the minimum age for trekking with the gorillas is 15, younger children are also welcome to stay at the Lodge.

    A 2.5 hour transfer through winding lush passes from Kigali Airport, the resort is easy to reach from the Capital.  It's only a 20 minute transfer on to the Parks Headquarters, so well located as a launch pad for meeting the gorillas!
