The 13 luxurious, light-filled Harim Suites are palatial yet cosy, with fireplaces, king-sized beds in arched alcoves, salons with a hidden flat-screen TV and DVD player, marble floors and antique rugs. Each has a living area, bedroom, bathroom with monsoon shower and sunken bath, dressing room and a large private garden or terrace. As you might expect, there is Wi-Fi throughout, heating and A/C, a minibar, iPod dock, safe box as well as soft robes and hand-made toiletries. Suites upstairs with private terraces are more romantic; downstairs, garden suites feature private plunge pools and patios. Two of the Suites have their own pool.
For more space, upgrade to either La Tour or the Apartment, which, as well as having more living areas, enjoy private pools and lovely terraces with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains in the distance.

If you can manage to drag yourself away from your sumptuous suite many indulgent treats await you; there are massages in the subterranean hammam, smokes in the secret cigar salon and chauffeured shopping excursions. If you are feeling active, tennis lessons can be arranged or there is riding and golf nearby. What this hotel is really about though is relaxation and a day, or several spent lounging around the vast palm-fringed pool, perhaps followed by afternoon tea in the gardens, is surely time well spent.

Breakfast can be served in the privacy of your own suite, by the pool or in the lovely restaurant area. With delicious French pastries, Moroccan honey and fruits, this is an experience to be lingered over. The lunch and dinner menus, prepared by the hotel's highly-trained French chef, are very much focused on French-Moroccan cuisine, using, wherever possible, the hotel's own fresh produce. The thoughtfully curated wine list is a real treat. With such tempting offerings, you may not decide to venture into Marrakech to dine, but if you do, the hotel can arrange a driver and give you some excellent recommendations.

Children over 1 year old are welcome at the hotel, but with its ethos of tranquil luxury this might be somewhere you prefer to save for a special adult-only occasion. However, the Large Harim Suites, the Apartment and La Tour can all accommodate extra beds.
