  • rooms

There are various room categories, so you are sure to find the right one for you. All feature carefully curated artwork from the owner’s enviable private collection, hand-stitched Egyptian cotton linen and bathrobes, Wi-Fi and bedside mineral water, personal safe and hair dryer and air-conditioning/ heating.

    Courtyard Rooms
These comfortable double rooms, with king-size bed, are decorated in a Moroccan style but with a twist. All have an open bathroom with tadelakt bath and monsoon shower. Some have real wood fires, the bed in another has been crafted out of tadelakt and one is tucked high in the hotel with its own private terrace.

    Colonnade Rooms
Larger rooms, with a king-size bed, either with an oversized bathroom or an outside seating area to enjoy. One has a hot pink tadelakt bathroom and the bed in another has been created by local artisans and is backed by a huge Venetian mirror.

    Junior Suites
With a king sized bed, some have an open wood fireplace, others boast a hand-carved cedar ceiling or leather-lined walls and all have a seating area. You might step onto a hand-stitched camel leather floor or look up to see artisan-crafted plasterwork.

    Imperial Suites
Each Suite is individually styled – one has copper, brass and stainless steel inlaid into the polished floor, another boasts 23 carat gold leafing and then there's the free standing roll top silver bath for two. At around 650ft2 (60m2), our suites all have a king-size bed, lounge area, fireplace and a huge bathroom complete with monsoon shower and bath.

    Private Pool Suites
Two different styles – one so romantic the Sunday Times' voted it one of its top ten sexiest hotel rooms, the other with a New York mezzanine loft feel. Both are around 700ft2 (65m2) and come with a private terrace, plunge pool, kilim-covered king-size beds, hand-stitched camel leather floors and sun loungers.

    Family Suites
These two-bedroom suites are perfect for families or friends travelling together. With spacious master bedrooms plus a smaller second bedroom, they both have a private roof terrace and open fireplaces. One boasts a sitting room and bedrooms with en suite shower rooms. The other has a free-standing roll top bath and seating area in the master bedroom plus a spacious bathroom with five-foot rain shower. Decorated with traditional tadelakt and furnished with twentieth-century classics, they're El Fenn rooms with a twist.

    Private House
A private riad with four double bedrooms, dining room and kitchen, wonderful courtyard, sitting room with huge TV screen and a roof terrace filled with places to lounge plus a plunge pool. A minute from the main hotel, you get to enjoy all of El Fenn's facilities plus your very own private house party.

    Little Sister
Little sister has 4 double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms plus a two-bedroom family suite interconnected by a bathroom. Three minutes’ walk from our main building, you get to enjoy all of El Fenn's facilities plus your own pool, roof terrace, library and artworks.

  • facilities & activities

The hotel provides the perfect retreat from the bustling streets of central Marrakech. After a morning spent bargaining in the souks, or seeing the sights, relax and unwind next to one of the two marble swimming pools, take your book and tea up to the roof terrace, complete with its own plunge pool should you need to cool off. The hotel has its own hammam if further pampering is in order, or maybe book one of the hotel masseurs or beauty therapists- a pleasant prelude to an evening meal perhaps?

The riad has arrangements in place with nearby sports clubs for golf, horse riding and tennis, while breathtaking hiking and biking is only an hour away in the Atlas Mountains.

If shopping is your weakness, the souks are a tempting proposition, but it is worth availing yourself of one of the hotel guides if you want to avoid the more insistent sellers and hawkers.

  • dining

The pampering starts from the moment you wake up, with sweet pastries and coffee left outside your room. Follow this up with a delicious breakfast of home-made yoghurt, local jams, fresh bread, fruit and juices, as well as eggs to order. Eat in your room or on the lovely roof terrace.

The menu for lunch and dinner focuses on locally inspired recipes and uses, wherever possible, fresh produce from the hotel vegetable garden, and local markets. High-tea is a treat not to be missed with cakes and sweet pastries, accompanied by soothing mint tea.

Dinner, served at candle-lit tables in the courtyard or in the stylish restaurant is a more formal affair.

Snacks can be ordered throughout the day and you can eat anywhere – from your room to the roof terrace and restaurant. There is a lift up to the roof terrace which means it is fully accessible for those with mobility issues.

  • family

Recommended for children aged 12yrs +, the older, main riad is probably more suited to couples rather than families, although the hotel will happily provide extra beds if needed.  A much better option is one of the family suites, or for even more space either the Private House or Little Sister, self-contained ‘baby’ riads with up to 4 double bedrooms – the perfect arrangement for larger families or friends travelling together.

  • location

The hotel is just inside the Bab El Ksour meaning you don’t need to negotiate a maze of alleyways on arrival – your taxi will drop you off and you literally turn the corner and you’ve arrived! El Fenn is a five minute walk from Djemaa El Fna; the bars and restaurants of Gueliz, Hivernage and the Palmeraie are a short taxi ride away.
