This Mughal inspired hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood of Agra, within 6 acres of grounds, yet only a 10-minute drive from the Taj Mahal. A serene haven hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Agra.

The building is low-rise, and set over just two floors, around a picturesque garden and large swimming pool, it feels much smaller than its 135 rooms. With good dining options, a kids club, and extensive grounds, this hotel is perfect for families and couples alike.

The large pool is the perfect place to unwind and cool off with a refreshing dip after a busy day’s sightseeing. For a spot of pampering and relaxation, the spa, with a range of Ayurvedic and Western style treatments, is excellent. There is also a 24-hour fitness centre.

In the evening there is often some low-key entertainment put on for guests such as puppet and magic shows.

The restaurant serves a range of delicious Indian delicacies; expect classic Rajasthani curries, crispy naans and melt in the mouth kebabs. There is also a good selection of international cuisine, with an extensive Italian menu including excellent wood fired pizzas. Lighter bites can be ordered in the bar, also the perfect spot for a pre or post dinner cocktail or nightcap.


The modern, fresh and spacious rooms come with a garden view as standard or upgrade for a pool view. Light floods in through the big pictures windows and there is a small seating area by the window to sit and enjoy the view.

The newly renovated suites have a separate living and dining room, separated by sliding doors. There is dining table for 4 people and the cosy living space is the ideal spot to enjoy the beautiful garden views.

The Trident Agra Kids club makes it an excellent choice for families visiting Agra. Younger children will love the splash pool, play area, outdoor games and choice of games and toys inside the kids club tent. For older children there is a great selection of supervised activities on offer such as cookery, pottery, art competitions, nature walks and even movie sessions.

And as well as enjoying the swimming pool, there is plenty of space in the grounds for a game of badminton, football or perhaps even cricket.

The restaurant has a good selection of international dishes and quite an extensive Italian menu, with particularly good wood-fired pizzas. Children’s meals are also available.

Up to two children under the age of 12 can be accommodated in their parent’s room, with one extra bed at no additional charge. Any child over the age of 12 will require their own room and interconnecting rooms are available.


The Trident is part of the The Oberoi Group which is working with Energy Efficiency Services Limited to implement several energy efficient initiatives, including clean energy systems across all its properties. These initiatives will aim to reduce the Group’s overall carbon footprint and strengthen its energy conservation efforts.

As part of the hotel group’s social responsibility, it has partnered up with SOS Children’s Villages with the aim of supporting the education and wellbeing of under privileged children. They provide for the upbringing and education of 210 children as well as offering career advice, experience of the hospitality industry, first aid training and sponsoring higher education through Bachelors Programs of 61 youths at various professional institutes.


Set in substantial grounds in a quiet area of Agra, yet just a 10-minute drive from the Taj Mahal, The Trident is in an excellent location. If you are arriving by train, the station is about 20 minutes away, and the airport about a 30 minute drive.
