In 1972, Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records bought the resort and ever since stars and artists have been coming here to record and relax. Rooms
The 12 enchanting cottages, in traditional Georgian colonial style, are set along meandering paths, featuring verandahs or balconies to make the most of the stunning setting. Inside you’ll find four-post beds draped with muslin and hardwood floors enhanced by mahogany furniture and unique decor.
Studio Suites (40 square metres) offer a queen size bed (twins on request) whilst Studio Cottages are high up in the foliage with far views and four poster beds. Two Bedroom Cottage is set far up high with a Queen and 2 x single beds and two verandahs to catch both the sunrise and the sunset.
One Bedroom Villas offer an expansive 140 square metres in space with separate living room area and wraparound veranda whilst the two-story Two Bedroom Villa is the largest option with 280 square metres of accommodation including 2 x Queen bedrooms, a vaulted living room and 360 degree views.
Family
Whilst the hotel has no age limits, it’s important to note that due to the quiet, luxurious atmosphere and property layout with many steps and steep drops, it’s more suitable for older children than very young ones.
There are no specific children’s facilities but extra beds can be added for a charge.
Sustainability
We are currently awaiting information regarding the hotel’s sustainability programme.
Location
The hotel is most easily reached via Kingston Airport. From here take a windy 45 minute journey up through the Blue Mountains. It’s quite a journey, but you’ll be richly rewarded with the views! If you’re travelling from Montego Bay, the drive is approximately 3 hours, so we recommend you make a day of it, stopping off en-route!
