Located on the private Onguma Game Reserve this small intimate tented camp delivers a luxury safari experience.
With just 7 luxury tented suites this lodge offers both a personal private experience on their own reserve as well as the option to access the National Park of Etosha. In the local Herero language, Onguma means, “the place you don’t want to leave.”

Facilities & Activities
The lodge is situated around a natural waterhole where small antelope and other species frequent throughout the day.This region is great for birders especially in the summer months.
The main area houses a relaxing lounge area and restaurant – both open fronted to the views across the reserve and waterhole.
There is also an infinity swimming pool which allows you game watching over the waterhole which beautifully illustrates the closeness of luxury and wilderness, which sums up this camp. The camp also features a boma area where you can sit around the fire enjoying a cold beer or chatting about the day’s wildlife viewing.
Onguma offer game drives on their private reserve, including morning, afternoon and night drives. You can also choose to spend the day self driving through Etosha National Park – please note minimal gate entrance fees are charged per person and per vehicle, and vehicles need to leave the park at 18:00.

Dining
The central area is home to the lodge’s restaurant and bar lounge area – serving delectable eats after a day out in the bush. These areas are open to allow you to enjoy a view and maybe even spot some wildlife whilst you tuck into your delicious meal.
Private bush dinners can be arranged at an additional charge for a romantic evening under the stars.
Rooms
The Luxury Safari Tents are situated around the natural waterhole, and each is equipped with evening breeze air-conditioning, an indoor and outdoor shower, a large bath and wood-fired hot tub. Each tent features a private patio where guests can relax in the afternoon with either a good book or a pair of binoculars for the eager twitchers.

Family
No children under the age of 12 are permitted. This camp is better suited to couples or families with teenagers.
Sustainability
Onguma supports an innovative project relating to the black rhino. Six black rhino were darted in the park and brought to the private Onguma Reserve which offers additional protection and monitoring of their movements.
Location
Situated on the private Onguma Reserve just on the outside of the eastern side of Etosha National Park – Namutoni Gate. Approx 5-7 hours drive from Windhoek town.
