Kruger National Park
Nottens Bush Camp

A family-run safari lodge renowned for its service and hospitality, Notten’s Bush Camp enjoys a sublime location in a 6,000 hectare private concession in the southern Sabi Sand Reserve. As one of the original game lodges, it offers lucky guests a truly authentic African safari experience, especially as night descends and the candles and lanterns light up both rooms and social areas, capturing a warm and enchanting spirit of what the bush is meant to be.

Pleasantly shaded by surrounding trees the camp commands fabulous views over the plain and waterhole but the real fun begins out on game-drive. Safaris are led by experienced and professional rangers in open-top Landcruisers, giving you every chance to see the prolific wildlife, including the renowned Big 5. Unique walking safaris are offered daily giving a different perspective on the local wildlife.

Afternoons are often spent enjoying the pool or perhaps having a massage at the Nature Spa. Under the cloak of nightfall guests enjoy the sounds of the African night, while dining in the candlelit boma beneath a canopy of stars before bedding down in one of the eight spacious suites. Elegantly decorated with natural fibres and light hues, the concrete floors extend out to wooden decks with peaceful bush views – making Notten’s the perfect base to enjoy a Kruger safari.

Facilities & Activities

The main lodge is an inviting open-plan thatched house with an open lounge on a large deck overlooking the camp waterhole through to vast open plain beyond. The 20m lap pool provides not only welcome relief in the heat of the day but also the option for a little gentle exercise during your stay. The nature Spa offers indoor and outdoor treatment areas and focuses on massage treatments which are perfect for refreshing between game drives. Due to the lack of electricity in the suites, the main area is where you can charge your cameras, and there is also access to a main telephone line.

Of course the main lure here is the surrounding Sabi Sand Game Reserve – a remarkable natural sanctuary known for its exceptionally high concentration of animal and bird life. Safaris are led by experienced rangers in open-top land rovers, offering an adventurous discovery of the region’s prolific wildlife, including Big 5 game viewing. Unique walking safaris are offered daily giving guests the opportunity of discovering the hidden treasures of the region. This can be followed by lazy hours spent in the sparkling pool or a massage at the nature Spa.
