Nayara Springs

Nayara Springs, the sister hotel of Nayara Gardens, is an exclusive adult-only boutique hotel set against the backdrop of the majestic Arenal Volcano.

The property sits on a gentle slope on the fringes of Arenal Volcano Natural Park in an area of breath-taking natural beauty. The 16 secluded luxury villas are surrounded by pristine rainforest each with its own exclusive plunge pool fed by a thermal, mineral spring as well as around-the-clock private butler service. With all the facilities and amenities of a 5* hotel, Nayara Springs’ great appeal is all the activities on offer – including the fine art of doing nothing at all.

Facilities & Activities

One of the distinctive features of the hotel is an oversized infinity edge pool that merges into the forest where you can spy toucans and hummingbirds or greet the friendly macaws that call Nayara Springs home.  There is also a beautiful Yoga Pavilion with wonderful views of the rainforest. Group classes are complimentary but private lessons can also be arranged.

The Spa at Nayara is a relaxing sanctuary. Private open-air treatment pavilions face the rainforest and come with Jacuzzis and outdoor showers. The spa also has a steam and sauna room, and offers hand and feet treatments, signature rituals, and combination packages. Twice a year Nayara Resorts offer bespoke wellness retreats and, new for 2024, a minimum 3-night Wellness Escape package with a focus on health, relaxation and rejuvenation. Please ask for more details.

There are many eco-tours on offer at the hotel for wildlife and bird-spotting enthusiasts along with a host of more exhilarating activities. Soar through the rainforest canopy on a zip-line, ride to the volcano on horseback or enjoy a bird’s eye view of the jungle with a hanging bridges tour.

As you would expect from a Relais & Chateaux property, the restaurants and bars aim to spoil guests with superb gourmet meals.

Amor Loco is the gastronomic gem: a fine dining restaurant in the heart of the rainforest, complimented with stylish décor, plush velvet chairs and exotic lighting.

Mis Amores offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional Costa Rican cuisine served in a spectacular setting, a stylish terrace with a view of the Arenal Volcano. The food is light, with a Latin influence: think guacamole, gazpacho, and ceviche. A large wood-burning oven churns out beautiful pizzas as well.

Guests at Nayaya Springs are welcome to dine at La Terraza Del Arenal Restaurant, Asia Luna and Nostalgia Wine Bar at Nayara Gardens – all a short walk away over the suspended bridge.

Hidden amongst the tropical forest, the Springs Villas feature their own private plunge pool fed by natural mineral hot springs, an expansive private garden with dual rain showers, oversized bathroom, four-poster bed, and indoor and outdoor sitting areas.

Each Springs Villa has its own private butler and the rooms are fabulously equipped with flat screen TV with DVD/CD player and free films, i-home audio system, free wifi, complimentary coffee, tea, fruit and mini bar (except wine & liquor) and free International and local calls.

Nayara Springs is an adult only hotel, we recommend Nayara Gardens for families.

Nayara prides itself on being environmentally and socially responsible in everything they do.  To preserve and protect their piece of rainforest they opened a sanctuary to provide a safe habitat for sloths and other jungle wildlife. They have planted thousands of trees and native species in the tropical gardens to support the wildlife and are also helping with Arenal National Park’s reforestation efforts.

From a local community perspective Nayara employs a local team, offering staff free transportation, sustainable tourism education, and health services. Other local initiatives include free early education for employees’ children, volunteer time, and financial support to a local orphanage. Nayara are now working hard to become single-use plastic free and have replaced plastic water bottles with reusable glass bottles in the villas and eliminated plastic straws.

The nearest town is La Fortuna de San Carlos in Northern Costa Rica. The drive from San Jose takes approx. 3 hours on good roads. The local Airport Arenal/La Fortuna is served by several domestic flights.

Access to the property is via a pedestrian bridge opening onto breath-taking views of the jungle. The bridge connects Nayara Springs to its sister property Nayara Gardens.
