Maramboi Tented Lodge

Maramboi Tented Camp offers permanent camp facilities and endless vistas of rolling golden grasslands and palm lined desert between Tarangire and Manyara Lake.

 

A visit to the area is essential for anyone interested in evolution and the origins of Mankind and an explanation of the Rift Valley and Africa’s big picture. It is a complete semi desert experience focusing on safari walks and game drives.

 

Facilities & Activities

44 spacious tents built on ample wooden decks, among them there are 6 family tents with 2 rooms interconnected, ideal for families with children.

They all have en suite facilities and private veranda with 24 hours 220V electric lighting.

The main lodge has a large and spacious lounge area and restaurant, and then a walk way takes you to the large pool area that overlooks Lake Manyara.
Game drives will be conducted daily by your driver-guide to either Tarangire or Lake Manyara – however the lodge does also offer guided walks to Lake Manyara from the lodge at an additional charge. There is also a small souvenir shop.

There is Wifi in the main lodge only.

Dining

The main house which includes restaurant and lounge offers spectacular views, endless vistas of rolling golden grassland and palm lined desert between Tarangire and Manyara Lake. Located on an elegant elevated wood platform with thatched roofing, encircled by majestic palms trees, the restaurants serves a large variety of dishes to suit all tastes in a buffet style serving.

Packed breakfast and lunches can be arranged too if you choose to spend the day out game viewing.

Rooms

Family

There are 6 family rooms, perfect for guests with children sleeping up to 3,4 or 5 persons.

The interconnected tents, built on raised wooden platforms each have their own private en-suite facilities.

Sustainability

Tanganika Wilderness Camps have several foundation projects that they are involved in. For each bed night USD1.50 is donated to educate local Maasai girls of school age, they also support a rural medical facility Olmoti Clinic and sponsor towards the building of the Bashay Secondary School.

Location

The lodge is situated approximately 2 hours from Arusha Town, approx. 30 minutes drive to the Tarangire National Park Gate and about an hour to the Lake Manyara Gate.
