Facilities & Activities

Inspired by the London Wetland Centre, the villas are dotted around the nature reserve over paddy fields and lakes. A golf cart will take you to and from the main reception located at the entrance to the reserve, or you can make use of the cycles to discover the place for yourself. A beautiful private spa offers Ayurvedic and naturopathic treatments, and you can stay on and enjoy the plunge pool or a candle-lit dinner. A resident naturalist is on hand to help you explore the area or the snug library is the perfect place to unwind after a day’s sight-seeing. All the rooms offer air-conditioning, mini-bar, BOSE entertainment systems and tea & coffee making facilities, whilst some also have private plunge pools.

Choose from four different dining options at Jetwing Vil Uyana; The Apsara offers fine dining whilst light refreshments and refreshing drinks are yours to enjoy at The Sulang along with a cool breeze and casual fare. The Graffiti Bar is well stocked with an array of international spirits, wines and beer which will keep you in the best of spirits. Tree House Dining is a novel way to enjoy the wilds while eating some excellent food in a tree found on the grounds of the hotel.


Vil Uyana has 4 different and unique forms of dwellings each of which have been designed to blend in with the thriving eco-system of the region – the simplicity of the design belies the comfort and luxury inside, living up to their accolade of being named a Small Luxury Hotel of the World.

There are 3 Water Dwellings with woven ceilings, teak floors, and a private balcony overlooking the lake.

The 11 Paddy & Marsh Dwellings have their own deck with a view of the scrubland or the paddy fields. 2 Marsh Dwellings and all Paddy Dwellings have their own private plunge pool.

The 10 Forest Dwellings are built from earth and stone, and each dwelling has 2 levels with a spacious bedroom and lounge area upstairs, and a dining room as well as a private swimming pool downstairs.

There are also 5 new Garden Dwellings which are situated within the gardens and not in the paddy/marsh fields.

Children are warmly welcomed at Vil Uyana although please note that due to its location, children must be supervised at all times. Villas accommodate up to 1 additional rollaway bed.


Staying at Vil Uyana is quite literally staying at a wildlife sanctuary, with over 140 species of birds, 27 species of mammals and 44 species of amphibians, dwelling in the man-made wetlands. The hotel is committed to preserving its community and environment. its signature open architecture reduces the requirement for artificial lighting and ventilation and its traditional thatched roofing and clay walls reduces the need for air-conditioning, with the dwellings being constructed of 70% natural materials. all waste water is treated on sit and used for irrigation purposes and an on-site biogas station processes all food waste and turns it into fuel for the stoves in the kitchen.
