Facilities & Activities
As you would expect from a resort of this calibre, there are a fantastic array of activities and Great Barrier Reef adventures on offer. Within the resort, there is plenty to keep you busy, whether it’s relaxation or recreation that you desire.
If you’re feeling sporty, you can play tennis or basketball, practise your golf swing on the driving range, swim, go bushwalking, take an exercise class in the state-of-the-art fitness centre, or play a game of squash.
The Great Barrier Reef provides the perfect setting for exciting activities including diving, snorkelling, fishing, sailing, kayaking, water skiing, wakeboarding and helicopter and seaplane adventures. Hayman Beach offers complimentary activities such as sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding and friendly staff are very happy to give instruction should you need it. Day trips to other islands can be arranged by boat, seaplane or helicopter.
If you’re looking for some respite then head to the spa where you can choose from an extensive menu of traditional and up-to-the-minute treatments inspired by the local surroundings. There is even a cutting-edge hair salon and a glamorous make-up studio for styling and beauty, or you could treat yourself to something lovely in the sophisticated boutique or gift shop.

Dining
Hayman Island certainly lives up to its reputation as a food lover’s paradise, with its exclusive and vast range of private dining experiences. World-class chefs have created the perfect ambiance with mouth-watering flavours from modern Asian to contemporary Australian; there are a variety of flavours on offer that can be enjoyed both pool-side and beach-side. Imaginative cuisines and fantastic vintages from around the world can be enjoyed at any of the five superb a la carte restaurants. Or if you’d prefer something a little more secluded, you can enjoy picnics on the beach or romantic candlelight dinners beneath the stars with destination dining.
Pacific is a dramatic glass restaurant right by the sand, serving food is served inside, outside and on the beach. Live music, sea views and enthusiastic service create a fantastic sociable atmosphere, no matter what time of day you visit. If you like Italian cuisine then you will love Amici, a firm favourite with families, and Bam Bam offers technically perfect Asian cuisine stemming from a variety of influences including Thailand, Korea, India and China, made all the more special by its exotic setting amongst a bamboo grove.
For fine dining, the resort’s signature restaurant, Fire, showcases the creativity of an elite culinary team which has a unique style of haute cuisine with a strong Australian influence.
Rooms
Hayman Island offers elegant resort living in luxurious rooms, suites, villas and penthouses nestled amongst expansive pools, lush gardens and pristine white sand. The accommodation is located in three distinct areas of the resort, each with its own unique style and ambience.
Hayman Wing
Located on the tranquil eastern side of the resort, the Hayman Wing offers spacious and sophisticated rooms and suites set within lush surroundings and only a few steps from Hayman Beach and the Coral Sea; all the accommodation overlooks either the serene lily lagoon or the ocean. Each room and suite features a private balcony complete with beautiful views over the lush gardens, a spacious en-suite bathroom with a separate shower, bath, double vanity and an open-plan dressing room. If you would prefer partial views of Hayman Beach and the Coral Sea then there are the Hayman Ocean View Rooms or the Hayman Premium Ocean View which have a stunning uninterrupted vista. If you would like the option of a separate bedroom, dressing and lounge area then the Hayman Suites fit the bill featuring a double balcony with breathtaking views of either the lagoon or the beach. Connecting rooms are available throughout the Hayman Wing.
Pool Wing
With easy access to the iconic pool, breathtaking views of the Coral Sea, and all just moments from Hayman Beach, the Pool Suites are the ultimate resort accommodation experience. The Pool Wing offers all-suite accommodation in one-bedroom or two-bedroom configurations. All suites feature separate living and dining areas, luxury en suite bathrooms with separate showers and baths, plus spacious decks for relaxing. The pool-level one bedroom suites also offer swim-out access to the pool directly from the terrace.
Beach Wing
An idyllic hideaway, a fantastic collection of uniquely-designed Beach Villas can be found on the beachfront offering superb views of the Coral Sea and a private pool to create the ultimate in beachside luxury. The Retreat Rooms are found directly behind the villas amongst lush gardens and feature twin or double beds, an open-plan bathroom with a sunken bath and a private outdoor rainwater shower. If you want complete privacy there is a private Beach House available featuring a secluded garden and pool. This is the perfect setting for the quintessential luxury Australian beach holiday.
Hayman Penthouses
Located on the top floor of the Hayman Wing, these uniquely designed and furnished one, two and three-bedroom Penthouses are spectacular. Lavishly furnished with sweeping views of Hayman Beach, the Coral Sea and the Whitsundays, this is luxury at its absolute finest.
The Three Bedroom Owner’s Penthouse is the ultimate experience and features a large sitting room and dining area, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and kitchenette, a bar and wrap-around balcony. A complimentary in-room bar, internet access and personalised Butler service complete this luxury offering.

Family
As a leading family resort, Hayman Island has a wealth of children’s activities on offer. As well as the pools and sporting activities going on throughout the resort, there is the Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club for four to 12-year-olds. Babysitting can also be arranged.
The children’s club features different activities every day. Expect everything from sea shell painting and dance games indoors to outdoor experiences such as buggy safaris, guided nature walks and building sandcastles. Your little ones will also enjoy watching a spot of tropical fish feeding at the marina or children’s relaxation and stretching sessions. Active children will also love the beach games and coconut bowling. Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club is open 8:30am – 12:00pm and 1:30pm – 5:00pm daily.
In terms of accommodation, The Hayman Family Room is ideal if you have children as it offers two rooms, featuring a king and a twin bed, which are connected through a private foyer. Each room comes with a private balcony with either lagoon or beach views and has spacious en suites with a separate shower and bath.
There is also the option of the Hayman Family Suites, which offer the same luxurious layout as the rooms but feature a Hayman Suite with a twin room connected through a private foyer. Beach Villas can also be partnered with Retreat Rooms.

Location
Hayman Island is the most northerly of the Whitsunday Islands, part of the Cumberland Islands on the Great Barrier Reef, located off the coast of Central Queensland.
Great Barrier Reef Airport receives direct flights from all of Australia’s major cities, with onward connections to the UK/Europe. There is a short transfer to the Island by either luxury launch, helicopter or seaplane.
