Managed by &Beyond, Ngala boasts exclusive traversing rights on almost 15 000 hectares of prime African bushveld. The surrounding landscape is well known for its high densities of elephant, buffalo and rhino, as well as sightings of the rare wild dogs and generally elusive leopard.

Secluded in leafy woodlands, Ngala’s guest areas include a spacious thatched lounge, bar and dining area with impressive open fireplaces along with a private library for those seeking a bit of quiet time.
Twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles and nature walks on the reserve are included in the rate. There is no better way to pass time between these, than to take a dip in the sparkling swimming pool and relax on the sundecks which overlook a busy waterhole.
The excellent game viewing experience is complemented by other activities such as stargazing, birdwatching, moonlit riverbed dinners and bush sundowners (weather permitting).

Dining
Your mouth-watering dinner is served either in the traditional African boma (outdoor dining area) or in the romantic lantern-lit courtyard.
Rooms
Ngala Safari Lodge offers 20 thatched cottages, each carefully and tastefully designed. Private verandas have wonderful views over the waterhole and the bush beyond.

Family
The Lodge’s fun-filled children’s adventure programme, WILDchild, is a filled with interactive activities that offer opportunities to learn and discover new experiences and cultures. This includes bush walks, Planet Manager Activity books, frog safaris, birding, and children’s meals and menus.
When not staying in the Family Suite (when no age limits apply as a private vehicle is provided), game drives are available to children aged 12 years and older. Children aged 6-11 are also permitted on game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. Childminders can be arranged during game drives for younger guests and at other times for an additional cost.
Up to 2 children under the age of 12 can be accommodated on a sleeper couch in some Family Chalets. For those in need of greater space, the 2-Bedroom Safari Suite provides ideal family accommodation, with facilities for up to 2 adults and 3 children under 16. The flexibility of a sole-use vehicle is also ideal for family game drives.
Sustainability
&Beyond pays a portion of its turnover to the SANParks Trust, which is directly responsible for the establishment of South Africa’s West Coast National Park. Ngala is also home to two of the world’s only three documented white lions living in the wild. So far, &Beyond has donated 3823 Hippo Water Rollers within Mpumalanga, and 4764 throughout their rural communities, improving access to clean water.
Location
Ngala Safari Lodge lies on the western boundary of the Kruger National Park in the southern part of the Timbavati Game Reserve. It is approximately 45 minutes from Hoedspruit Airport, and 2.5 hours from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport by road.
Do keep in mind that the Timbavati is within a malarial zone.
