Siem Reap and The Temples
Anantara Angkor Resort, Siem Reap
Resembling a grand Khmer Villa, this chic resort is found on the outskirts of Siem Reap, just outside the French Quarter and within easy striking distance of the enchanting temples of Angkor Wat.
Exquisite and regal with plenty of space, the elegant suites surround a huge salt water filled pool, dotted with soothing waterfalls and lush greenery and personal butlers on hand to cater to your every whim.
Facilities & Activities
The pool is the main attraction here: 18 metres of sparkling saltwater in the resort’s central courtyard with a shallower end for smaller dippers. The in-house spa has 5 treatment rooms and a range of luxurious local treatments, just the ticket after visiting the extraordinary temples on the doorstep. There are also unique experiences for Anantara guests, including a trip to the local markets with your personal ‘Street-Wise’ Guru, or discover ancient local life and legends from the knowledgeable guides.

At in-house restaurant ‘Chi’, the day begins with an international buffet of live cooking stations and a variety of local and continental choices. The open kitchen then serves up organic and authentic Khmer Cuisine for lunch and dinner with seasonal tasting menus.
For those still peckish in-between meals the L Lounge is an all-day deli that overlooks the courtyard; think late breakfasts and high tea with a side order of champagne, or just sunset cocktails to keep you going until dinner. The poolside snacks are whistled up at Salt; just a slight toe wiggle from your sun lounger will bring the attentive staff to your side before you’ve even decided what you’d fancy!
It is firmly Suite territory here. Luxurious and classic they offer state-of-the-art facilities and plenty of light-filled space with large floor to ceiling windows. Most will comfortably fit 3 adults (over 12 is considered an adult) and 1 child and all come with a personal ‘Experience Butler’ who will look after every detail. The extensive Henry Mouhot Suite is huge and will fit 4 adults and 3 children, perfect for families travelling together.
Take a Video Tour
While the resort is very much family-orientated, we think it is more suited to older children who like swishing around the boutique shops and lounging by the pool looking chic. Younger, noisier versions will disturb the oh-so-tranquil atmosphere and parents may feel a little less relaxed with them in tow.
Behind the scenes and at the forefront, Anantara works tirelessly to preserve the amazing destinations that we call home.
Hand in hand with guests, their team contributes to a number of social and environmental projects in each country where they operate. They actively support their communities through grassroots involvement as well as matching dollar-for-dollar guest donations to organisations providing vital services, such as children’s surgeries and wildlife protection.
They are also Certified Gold to the Green Growth 2050 Global Standard which recognises excellence in environmental, socio-economic and cultural sustainability in travel and tourism.
The resort is just a 10-minute privately-chauffeured ride from the Airport and set slightly outside the main bustle of the town. However, the fascinating Old Market area is 10 minutes by tuk-tuk while the temples are just 15 minutes away.
