Sydney, the capital of New South Wales is a colourful, vibrant and diverse city with incredible landmarks like the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and abundant national parks and surf beaches, it is a must see on any first time trip to Oz. A great way to see the city is from the water, and getting around Sydney is easy.
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and Sydney Harbour, Manly is a beautiful peninsula of 18 beaches, hidden coves and inlets surrounded by National Parks, Aboriginal sites and historic landmarks; A beachside oasis for surfing, swimming and sailing, beachside sports, scenic walks, galleries and festivals, Manly also boasts acclaimed beachfront dining, and alfresco wine bars on the wharf.
Some activities that should be considered for your itinerary include
- Bridge climb or walk across the Harbour Bridge
- Opera House tour
- Harbour Yacht cruisse
- Taronga Zoo visit
- Manly’s Oceanworld Aquarium and dive with sharks (age 14 plus)
- Take a scenic walk from Manly to Mosman (approx 2.5 hour walk along the headland of the harbour)
- Go sea kayaking from Middle Harbour to nearby beautiful Balmoral beach
Further afield you can also explore the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley nearby, or drop down to the south coast, with rolling hills and rugged coastal landscape and enjoy beaches, often by yourselves, or you could trek north, by car or plane to northern NSW and enjoy idylillic coastal towns like Byron Bay.
