Whether it is half-term or you would like to combine South Africa with the Indian Ocean or Middle East, we would recommend the following options.
Day 1: Fly overnight to Johannesburg
Day 2: Collect your hire car / transfer / shuttle flight to Madikwe Game Reserve the next morning. You will be collected from the air strip and welcomed at your luxury Lodge for 3 nights game viewing, in search of Elephant, Lion and the rare Wild Dog.
Day 5: Today you will be transferred to the Waterberg (approx 3 hours) for your ‘active’ safari experience at Ant’s Nest or Hill for 3 or 4 nights. As there are no dangerous predators in the Reserve, it is safe to walk and horse ride with game such as rhino and giraffe, an experience not to be forgotten.
Day 9: Transfer or drive back to Johannesburg to take your overnight flight back home.
Can stretch your time a little further? Why note take a few days out on arrival in Sun City Resort to recuperate from the flight before heading up to Madikwe?
